Who We Are
Welcome to Balance Strength & Fitness Center, the leading provider of fitness training in the Wilmington area. Whether it be by offering best-in-class equipment, fun and challenging group classes, or premier personal training, our goal is to always provide the highest level of service with noticeable results for our clients. Because of our high standards, our trainers are among the best in the business with over 50 years combined experience training hundreds of clients. In addition to the wide array of strength training equipment we offer, we have a fully equipped cardio area with treadmills, ellipticals, stair mills, recumbent bike and Concept 2 Rower.

H.I.I.T. CLASS
Alternating periods of high intensity and low intensity exercise. Class lasts 45 minutes. Dynamic warmup, 30 minutes of intervals, and finishing with core work. All levels welcome.
STRENGTH & MUSCLE
Our Strength & Muscle class consists of weightlifting and muscle building. All skill levels are welcome, from beginners who are learning the basics, to experienced athletes looking for progression-based programming for strength of hypertrophy. Programs are individualized after the basic skill levels.

FITNESS ASSESSMENT
A complete fitness assessment will be conducted prior to the commencement of all personal training programs. The fitness assessment is an important first step in getting started. It not only helps us to assess your current fitness level, identify training needs and develop training programs, but also provides a baseline of a variety of measurements and tests to determine progress and measure success. In addition to the measurements and testing, a great deal of time will be spent discussing your specific fitness goals.
The fitness assessment includes:
• Total Body Measurements
• Body Mass Index (BMI)
• Body Fat Percentage
• Estimated VO2 Max
• Cardiovascular Endurance Testing
• Muscular Endurance & Strength Testing
• Posture Assessment
Fitness Assessments may also be purchased on their own without personal training services.

Balance Strength & Fitness Center provides best-in-class equipment and the highest quality training in the Wilmington area. In addition to the wide array of strength training equipment we offer, we have a fully equipped cardio area with treadmills, ellipticals, stair mills, recumbent bike and Concept 2 Rower. We feature state-of-the-art equipment for all your training needs.
Balance Strength & Fitness Center's offerings include monthly memberships,small group classes and premier personal training. We are located on the West Side of Wilmington, conveniently located to Union Park Gardens, Trolley Square, the Highlands, Rockford Park, Westover Hills, and Greenville as well as the Elsmere and Price's Corner areas. We are small-business owned and operated and strive to foster a friendly and encouraging environment among all of our clients and staff. Clients often describe working out at Balance as having a community feel. Owner, Scott McCarthy, has been a personal trainer for almost 20 years and is on site daily training clients and interacting with members. He is a wealth of information and always happy to answer questions.

Individualized Fitness Programs
Balance Training Programs consist of one hour sessions with a Personal Trainer. All programs are customized for each client based on their fitness goals. Whether clients are interested in losing those last few pounds, targeting specific problem areas, sports conditioning, achieving a healthier, more active lifestyle, or a complete body transformation, the Balance training staff will work with each one to create a fitness program tailored to meet individual goals.
SMALL GROUP PERSONAL TRAINING
We also offer small group training, which includes all of the same elements as our personal training sessions but is structured for small groups of 2–6 clients. Working out with a friend or partner can spur motivation as well as being fun. Small group training is great for friends, co-workers, or bridal parties; still allowing for individualized attention but at a cost savings versus one-on-one training.
All sessions are by appointment only at a time convenient for each client. There are no monthly membership fees or contract (a BSF membership is not required for personal training services).
